NHS England’s Clinical Entrepreneurial Programme – Now open to Healthcare Scientists

Are you a healthcare scientist with a great idea for a commercial, social or charitable enterprise? Are you passionate about continuing in clinical practice but dream of pursuing your entrepreneurial vision that will impact patients and change healthcare? The Clinical Entrepreneur Programme is for you! The programme is jointly managed by NHS England and Health Education England, and was developed with entrepreneurial clinicians, academic leaders and industry partners. Now all healthcare scientists who are developing clinical innovations or enterprises can also bid to become participants in this prestigious scheme. Find out more.

Health Education England (HEE) North Central and East London (NCEL)/ National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) North Thames Fellowship for The Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions (NMAHPs)

HEE working across NCEL has commissioned the NIHR CLAHRC North Thames Academy to run a research fellowship scheme for healthcare scientists, for a fourth cohort. A full list of eligible professions is available here. This exciting scheme provides opportunities for fellows to develop their career as a clinical academic and access support from within the NIHR CLAHRC North Thames to develop an application for external funding to undertake further postgraduate study. The application form and details about the application process can be found on the CLAHRC website. The deadline for applications is 5pm, Thursday 27 July 2017.

Webinar - Commissioning Services for People with Hearing Loss: A Framework for Clinical Commissioning Groups 

Calling all commissioners for hearing loss services and other multi-disciplinary models of care; join Fiona Carragher, Deputy Chief Scientific Officer, and commissioners from Coventry Rugby CCG and West Hampshire CCG to learn how to implement the Commissioning Services for People with Hearing Loss – a Framework for Clinical Commissioning Groups. The webinars offer examples of best practice and innovative approaches to commissioning services in order to make sustainable savings and reduce the pressure on services across the system. There will be opportunity for Q&A. The webinars will be held between 15:30 and 17:00 on the following dates.
