The Modernising Scientific Careers Scientist Training Programme (STP) is a graduate entry programme leading to senior Healthcare Scientist roles. 

STP Trainees are employed by an NHS trust for the duration of the training.

Learning is delivered through three years of (approved and accredited) workplace-based training, with the first year spent in a range of rotations before specialisation in the last two years of training in one of a number of specialisms.

Trainee Healthcare Scientists will also be required to undertake a specifically commissioned Master's degree in their chosen specialism. Learning Guides for the rotational elements of the programme are available at the National School for Healthcare Science.
